SEOUL METROPOLITAN GOVERNMENT
The City of Seoul has been one of the most active cities in the Asia-Pacific
region in terms of inter-city cooperation and sharing its experiences in policy and practice. Among various initiatives, Seoul Metropolitan Government has launched a comprehensive policy archive for knowledge sharing, the Seoul
Solution, which introduces almost 200 cases of urban development which
acts to promote inter-city and public-private cooperation.
ESCAP, as the regional development arm of the United Nations in Asia-
Pacific, is responsible for fostering cooperation among its member States
and has been promoting cooperation among national and local governments on sustainable urban development for decades. ESCAP is the convener of
the Asia-Pacific Forum on Sustainable Development(APFSD), the yearly
regional mechanism for follow-up and review of the 2030 Agenda for
Sustainable Urban Development, as well as the Asia-Pacific Urban Forum.
CityNet connects urban actors and delivers tangible solutions for cities
across the Asia Pacific region. The Network's 130 members include
municipalities, private companies, non-profit organizations, research
institutes, training centers, and universities. CityNet is committed to
responding to the urban challenges in its member cities and to working
towards sustainable, people-centered, and resilient cities.
